Digitalizing WWII Stories: A Triumph for Stichting WO2Net

Stichting WO2Net, in partnership with Norday, embarked on a mission to preserve and share the fading stories of World War II. Norday’s blend of digital product design, UX design, web development, and data analytics allowed the non-profit to create a dynamic, data-driven platform that made millions of historical sources accessible and meaningful.

The results were astounding. The platform linked over 12.5 million sources to events, places, people, and themes, contextualizing the vast amount of data into narrative presentations. This not only made the platform flexible and future-proof, but it also brought World War II closer to current generations. The platform facilitated over 1.5 million searches per year and converted 12.5 million data points into personalized stories, earning multiple awards for its innovative use of data and content.
