Laravel Webshop Boosts Student Engagement at Medica
Medica, a student association at KU Leuven, faced challenges in managing its webshop's inventory and restocking process. Students struggled to track stock levels and manually restock books, leading to inefficiencies. To address this, Van Ons implemented a custom inventory system integrated with Laravel, enabling real-time stock tracking and automated restocking alerts. This improved student experience and operational efficiency. The system also introduced a single sign-on feature, simplifying access for KU Leuven students. Additionally, a specialized afhaalsysteem was developed for Doc’s Bar, allowing students to quickly retrieve books and track inventory. The result was a more efficient webshop, higher customer satisfaction, and increased sales. The solution demonstrated how technology can enhance student engagement and operational effectiveness.
