Offline AI-Prototype for Crisis Cognition: Local AI-System for Field Teams
Crisis Cognition partnered with WeAreBrain to develop an offline AI-prototype that enables field teams to operate independently of internet connectivity. The solution leverages an Orange Pi 5 Max hardware setup and a captive portal to ensure seamless access to the Open WebUI interface. This prototype demonstrates how advanced language models can function in isolated environments, providing real-time support for responders in areas with unreliable infrastructure. The system eliminates setup friction and allows teams to quickly access the assistant without cloud dependencies, significantly enhancing decision-making in challenging conditions. The project highlights the potential of localized AI solutions to address critical operational needs in crisis scenarios.
