Single Sign-On for 1.6M Dutch Students: Basispoort & Azure
Stichting Basispoort aimed to enhance accessibility for 1.6 million primary school students in the Netherlands by implementing a unified login system. Using Red Hat JBoss technology, iO developed a Single Sign-On (SSO) solution integrated with Microsoft Azure, enabling teachers and students to access their personalized digital materials seamlessly. The system now supports nearly 8,000 Dutch elementary schools and serves 1.6 million users, significantly reducing administrative burdens and improving usability. By centralizing identity management, Basispoort ensures secure, efficient access to educational resources across multiple publishers and school platforms.
