FILSA's Sustainable Innovation: Biodegradable Filter Caps for Colombia's Desert Communities
In collaboration with FILSA and Baylor International, Ogilvy Colombia developed 1,000 biodegradable 'Filter Caps' to address water safety in Colombia's desert regions. These innovative caps, made from sweet corn starch-based resin, mineralize water and provide safe consumption for 4 million vulnerable residents. The solution leveraged 3D printing technology to create a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics, reducing environmental impact. Partnering with the Colombian Red Cross, the initiative aimed to bridge the hydration gap in arid communities, emphasizing both innovation and social responsibility.
