HBM's Composable E-Commerce Transformation

HBM Machines transformed its e-commerce infrastructure by adopting a composable architecture, enabling greater flexibility and scalability. The project focused on localisation, performance, and developer experience, with a strategic launch in Austria to validate the new setup. Through co-located teams in Utrecht and Waddinxveen, HBM ensured rapid knowledge transfer and smooth planning across design, engineering, and merchandising. The result was a single, composable codebase with market-specific configurations and a content model supporting richer merchandising across all storefronts. This approach allowed HBM to expand into Spain and Italy while maintaining a consistent product data and content model.
