MyCOA: Mobile First for Asylum Seekers, Dutch Interactive Award Nominated
MyCOA was developed to empower asylum seekers and status holders in the Netherlands by creating a mobile-first platform with offline access. The platform, designed for users with limited tech skills, offers clear information on housing, services, and future opportunities. It was nominated for the Dutch Interactive Award in 'Digital for Good' for its innovative approach to accessibility and user needs. The platform organizes information into four key themes: 'Wonen bij het COA', 'Informatie over Nederland', 'Meedoen aan activiteiten', and 'de Toekomst'. All content is translated into 10 languages and structured with navigational pages and content pages. MyCOA enables users to manage personal affairs, such as receiving mail, through features like push notifications and digital diaries. The platform has been adopted by over 200 COA locations, significantly improving access to essential services for vulnerable populations.
