Streamlining Quarantine and Vaccination: Integrated Approach for the Netherlands

The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport faced complex challenges in managing quarantine and vaccination processes during the 2021 pandemic. Total Design developed a research-driven solution that integrated digital and printed declarations, simplifying access to vaccination services and ensuring clarity for all citizens. By coordinating across VWS, RIVM, GGDs, and municipalities, the project created a scalable model that became a blueprint for integrated public health services. The outcome was the platform prikkenzonderafspraak.nl and the website MijnVraagOverCorona.nl, which provided accessible, trustworthy information and streamlined processes for millions of users. The approach emphasized inclusivity, regional reach, and efficient communication, demonstrating how design can address multifaceted public health needs.
