Offline AI Prototype for Crisis Cognition: Field-Ready Solution
WeAreBrain developed an offline AI prototype for Crisis Cognition, enabling field teams to operate without internet access. The solution leverages the Orange Pi 5 Max, a low-power hardware platform, to run the AI locally. This ensures rapid decision-making even in disconnected environments. The prototype demonstrates that high-quality language models can function independently, providing real-time support to crisis responders. The system includes a Captive Portal, which automatically directs connected devices to the Open WebUI interface, eliminating setup complexity. This makes the assistant accessible immediately upon deployment, allowing responders to query the model without relying on cloud infrastructure. The project highlights the potential of AI to enhance operational efficiency in remote and low-connectivity scenarios, offering a scalable foundation for future iterations.
